ELDERS
I grew up in Soddy-Daisy, TN, a suburb of Chattanooga. By God’s grace, in 1999, I came to understand the gospel and my need for Jesus through the faithful ministry and teaching of my former youth pastor.
I am a 2009 graduate of the University of Tennessee. Prior to being called to ministry, I worked in collegiate athletics for eight years, as a student and professionally, with stops at the University of Tennessee, the University of Memphis, and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
In December of 2017, I completed my Master of Divinity Degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. While completing my degree, I also served as a Student Pastor in Bristol, TN.
In 2018, I moved to Wheaton, IL, to pursue Darcy. We were married later that year. In 2019, I joined the staff of Hope Fellowship Church in Lombard, IL, as the Pastoral Assistant, where I served until October 2020, when I had the opportunity to enter the work of Church Revitalization. Betsy Grace joined our family in 2019, Ruby Lynne in 2021, and Josiah James in 2024..
I have a love for the local church and a passion for seeing the glory of God go out and be made known to the ends of the earth. I want to serve the church faithfully, equipping and mobilizing the saints to use their gifts to build the church up and advance God’s kingdom.
In my free time, I love to spend time outside with my family–on the water, hiking, enjoying good coffee, and watching University of Tennessee sports. And now that we’re in the Northwoods, I’m sure we’ll find some winter activities to add to that list!
I have been a member of LOLBC since 1996 and am currently serving as an Elder with emphasis on Outreach and Evangelism. I have a desire to see others experience the power of a changed life through Christ.
Serving as a dentist who desires to treat people from all walks of life in a Christ-like manner has helped to prepare me to serve in the body of Christ in a compassionate manner, as well as have a heart for the community.
I have been married to Christine for 27 years and together we have three children. Our family enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, snowboarding, mountain biking, XC skiing, and Jeeping.
Since becoming a Christian, I have been careful to follow the Holy Spirit’s leading and have sought to serve in any way that would best benefit His church. I am grateful for the opportunity to grow and serve in my role as an elder here at Land O' Lakes Bible Church.
My career in engineering, design and project management has always involved serving others. I believe that all those opportunities have helped greatly as I care for those God has placed in my life.
I have been blessed with a wonderful family--my wife Annette who has been my friend and sweetheart since high school and two sons who have grown to be true servants and leaders in their own respective spheres of life. I am simple in my likes and passions. I greatly enjoy Creation's beauty, fine music, cars, watching classic movies, hockey and apologetics.
DEACONS
I currently serve Land O' Lakes Bible Church as a deacon and financial secretary during the summer months. In addition to our ministry here in the Northwoods, I serve in many other church support ministries around the United States.
After retiring from a career in law enforcement, I have enjoyed 13 years of full time volunteer opportunities while living in an RV. My wife Barb and I settled in Land O' Lakes in 2016. After seeking out a Bible preaching church, we landed at LOLBC.
I value the north woods area and its people and take every opportunity to spend time hunting and fishing.
CHURCH SUPPORT
Over the years, I have been active in numerous ministries (including my role as Treasurer at LOLBC during the summer months) since I first understood Biblical salvation, through Christ alone, at the age of 25.
Since my retirement from a career as a veterinary assistant, I have enjoyed many volunteer service opportunities alongside my husband Jeff. When we moved to Land O' Lakes in 2016, finding a welcoming church family where sound Biblical doctrine was being taught was a top priority.
I enjoy the people, scenery, and wildlife of the Northwoods. Visits from family and friends, hunting, and fishing are a few of my favorite activities.
In 2015 I relocated from my home state of Texas to live in the Northwoods of Wisconsin with Jeff, my loving husband of 20+ years.
With a heart for people, I became a certified biblical counselor through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) and have been a member of the Land O’ Lakes Bible Church for several years. I strive to serve our church body and others using the abilities, training, learned skillsets, and life experiences God has graciously granted me. But, more than anything, my ambition is to love and serve the Lord and other people by pointing to the hope of Jesus Christ.
Living in a fallen and sin-riddled world creates so many different seasons of challenge for all of us. Serving in the Land O’ Lakes Bible Church Biblical Counseling Ministry allows me to come alongside women to search the Scriptures and apply biblical truth in all of these seasons of life. Being able to observe the transformative power of the gospel in the lives of women as I encourage them with God's Word amidst trials, grieve with them amidst suffering, and rejoice with them in triumphs is truly amazing. There are few greater joys in this life than observing the power of God at work as He deepens understanding of His redemptive plan in Jesus Christ. Jesus gives those who believe upon Him a hope for the future, but He is also a very present help in the every day moments of the here and now!
I enjoy the outdoors, and in my down time I usually have my nose in a book of some sort while delighting in a cup of tea. If I'm not engulfed in a book, I'm probably working on some kind of new project as a jack-of-all-crafts (master of none).
