Freezer Meal Ministry
The Freezer Meal Ministry provides meals to those who need a little help for various reasons. The need may be based on a temporary situation such as a family illness or an ongoing situation where a home-cooked meal would be most welcomed. Help keep the freezer stocked with meals such as casseroles, stews, and soups which can be easily defrosted and heated.
The meals can be:
- Frozen-store-bought meals
- Store-bought and then frozen meals
- Home-cooked or home-baked and then frozen meals
- Home-assembled and then frozen meals
Prepare your favorite go-to meals, reach for a cookbook or check out one of the many wonderful resources on the Internet to help with this endeavor. Type "freezable recipes" into your search engine or check the following links for recipe ideas and tips for freezing food.
After a reasonable amount of time (typically six months from the date prepared) unused meals will be used for any upcoming potluck. Please contact us with questions or if you are interested in participating.
If you would like to prepare a meal, please follow these ABCs:
A -- Package well to avoid freezer burn. Use either a well-covered, disposable casserole dish (8 x 8 or 9 x 13 sizes needed) or a freezer bag.
B -- Label the meal with the following information:
- Date Prepared
- Name of Meal
- Ingredients (additional information such as nuts, gluten-free, etc.)
- Thawing, Cooking, and/or Reheating Instructions
- Number of Servings

C -- Contact us prior to delivering the meal to the church.
Thank you and God bless you for your generosity.
